When working with 7d footage, I have a droplet that allows me to select all my clips from the days shoot, and drop them directly onto that droplet which will automatically launch the background processing (monitored via batch monitor) and convert the compressed h.264 mov files into a prores file. Just another way to do the same thing. The great thing about droplets is you don't really have to monitor them-import the days footage, drop it onto the droplet, leave it alone. I generally import clips from the day and set them up to render overnight so I can start working with them first thing in the morning. I use Compressor a lot.
